John Tillman Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies | Community living, aquaculture, graywater, passive heating and cooling, solar power, rideshare, etc. Created from ideas developed by the late Prof. Lyle over a twenty year period, with contributions by his students and colleagues, initially funded by the Kellogg Foundation. Prof. Lyle used to state that it was the idea of bringing the resources of a major university to bear on community living, to rely upon not only sustainable systems, but "regenerative" systems that carry within them the seeds of their own renewal. These ideas can help ameliorate conditions in all urban communities, dealing with living costs, waste, homeless, etc., proving that the resources are available for healing these problems. |
